 Bacteria live twenty-five less on copper than on stainless steel: three hours instead of three days. The research doesn’t say how much time they live on wood or plastic, but it must be much more. So, when will all doorknobs in hospitals and clinics as well as in public restrooms—that are touched by thousands of people—be made of copper?
